First Post of 2014

Goodness, it's been a long time.  Our little girl ain't so little anymore.  Ten years old now.  Approaching five feet tall.  Has outgrown Mama's shoes.  Here she is out back with her very own fire in her very own terra cotta flower pot fire bowl.  Beautiful February weather in Jacksonville Beach.

New Pics for the Old Year

Good-bye, 2012.

Nia and I just spent a couple of days at Lake Ida, about 75 southwest of Jacksonville in Putnam County, between Palatka and Gainseville on Highway 20.  Beautiful weather.  This is the weekend lake house of our lifelong friend, Lloyd Hendry.

This is our angel with her first fish ever, caught just before dark.

Her second fish ever, the next morning.  We were practicing catch-and-release.  No fish were harmed in the making of this blog.

And after dinner on our second day, we did a bit of kayaking.  She took right to it.
As you can see, she's grown quite a bit since our last posting.  She'll be nine (9!) years old in about ten days.

On the Pier

Both taken on Jax Beach Pier, one in one direction, the other in the other. Beautiful weather, beautiful water. Five minutes from home.

Back in the Saddle

Nia has wasted no time getting reacquainted with the neighborhood after coming home from Japan. Here she is on her new cruiser, complete with 24" wheels. Fits her well, and even has some growing room. On our way back from Jacksonville Beach Pier.

Our Precious Nia

Can't find any words to go with this.

The Universal Language

This is Koharu, Hiromi's sister Izumi's dog. Another little buddy from far away.

Midwife Nia

She looks like a natural at this.
