Once again, I advise anyone who hasn't yet been to Kyoto to go there NOW and see all there is to see. An intact, twelve-hundred year old city that served as the national capital for nearly 1000 years and claims nearly all the most important shrines and temples in the country. If you had but only a single week in Japan, Kyoto would be the place to spend it.
